Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School (MGMHS), a co-educational institute affiliated to the SSC Board was established in 1976 as a Primary School, and upgraded to a High School, in 1983 by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. Today MGMHS has a student strength of more than 1000, a large campus and school building that houses every facility required to mould well-rounded personalities that thrive in a competitive environment.
MGMHS Is known for its high standard of education where great emphasis is laid on the complete and continuous interaction between teachers and pupils, both inside and outside classrooms.
MGMHS aims at providing education that develops an integrated personality, encourages habits, good moral values that build strong character, in keeping with Gandhian ideals of self reliance, service and dedication.
Proper stress is also laid on leadership qualities, patriotism and social behavior in a democratic society. This helps in building a feeling of national integration as our students hail from different communities.
A Well Balanced Curriculum
At MGMHS, great emphasis is laid on the design of the curriculum and structure as we believe that this is a strong motivating factor that facilitates the learning process.
"The play way US method" is used for tiny tots upto standard V. This helps to develop a spirit of enquiry in young minds and gently lead them to the path of learning through activities like: cricket, volley ball, basket ball etc. - all of which are both fun and educative.
After Standard V, students are gradually encouraged to focus on academics which makes them competitive and enables them to strive towards excellence. Stress on fundamentals in Maths and Science is applied to achieve the best results in EAMCET and IIT examinations. The success of our Alumni speaks for itself!
As a consequence, MGMHS has been achieving 100% results in X and VII Board exams for more than 23 consecutive years. The students of MGMHS continue to make a mark for themselves in the State and National levels in a broad range of activities. The school has bagged a total of 64 merit scholarships in the std. X Board exams and 45 merit scholarships in the std. VII Board exams from the state government.
